Firstly this week, as a few of you have been requesting, we have added up a new section for all you photographers to upload your work onto the site and get yourselves out there in front of bands aswell as showing off your creativity to the community. All the gallery functions for pages are now up so go check it out, add a page for yourself and let me know if you have any problems.

This week we will also be working on the gigs and events section, which over the weekend has had 2,000+ gigs added to it by us and more to come soon. We hope we can provide a guide for everyone and help you find great live music local to you. There has also been a complete redesign of how the homepage works, we now have the new media section on there, as well as a new "Featured" gigs section, where we will be highlighting gigs that the community has added and might be interested in more so than other gigs. Ha ha not sure explained that well, but anyway check it out!

The forum is up now, but we will be adding on the section of the site and also a part on the new homepage redesign we are working on.

We will be posting up bigger bands releases that we think people on here might be interested in, unsigned bands are also free to post their latest releases or videos in here too and we will add them to the site aswell. If you see anything on other sites you would like to post then feel free to do that also.

Lots of exciting new things on the site that Im pretty excited about!

#1 - Comments / Review System on Venues and Shops
Ive now added a comments / review system to the venues / shops bit of the directory so you can leave comments on your experiances with different venues etc. if you have been there or are a band who have played there or whatever!

#2 - Gallery System for venues and shops
There is now an option to setup galleries on your venue or shop page. Just click manage images link from your page control panel and you should see the links to create new galleries etc. I haven't quite finished this yet, they wont appear on your page at the moment, if you want to though you can start adding your images in as I intend to get this sorted sometime over the weekend to display them on the page.

I shall be using this new system to setup photography/artists sections on the site as I know quite a few people who would like to get some of that kind of work in a mini portfolio on the site.


#3 - RLVE TV
This came about as part of an experiment I have been doing and thought it might be cool for the site. Basically you enter a band/artist into it, it will then go off and find bands/artists that are similar and setup your own virtual music channel that just plays bands like them! Ha ha hard to explain, just try it out and see. Works very well I think. It cross references a few sites to find similar artists then pulls in video from youtube to create a constant stream of videos so its like your own music channel.

Ha ha I created my very own that just plays anarcho-punk!

Still pretty much in testing period so the player is pretty basic yet, but check it out and let me know what you think. I shall be adding more to it soon too. Any ideas for it welcome!

You can now choose a URL for your member profile on RLVE. This can be www.rlve.co.uk/anything. All you need to do is go into your member control panel then choose edit profile URL. Mine is http://www.rlve.co.uk/culturepunk if you want to add me!

Favorites -
We have added a new section to your member profile and directory pages, from each of the directory pages like venues, promoters ect. you will now see a link on the left which says add to my favorites. If you click on that, they will then appear in your my favorites section of your profile and your member controls. The idea of this is once more people start coming on to the site and adding their favorites in, you will be able to see who goes different venues and maybe arrange meetups and things. It will also show how popular each venue is aswell.

You will also notice there is a new box at the top of it called updates which will give you better information on things like messages and friend requests and things to your member profile! Its kind of like the one on facebook, or the myspace one.

I will also be reorganising your actual profiles over next week aswell to make them look a little neater etc., as I think they are a bit messy at the moment.

If anyones got any ideas for this section or the profiles in general that would be great!



Also in this message, for all you lot from around the ashton area, I would like to welcome OLIVERS BAR onto the site who should be keeping you guys up to date with gigs around ashton more, instead of just all the main manchester city centre ones we usually add.
